Adventures in Wuhan

Wuhan: Day 38, 39, 40

Day 38-

If I remember correctly about what happened on this day, I joined Dave, Jia He, Xin Rong and Zhi Hui on their adventure to Han Zhen Jie. Being a 5th Wheel in a 4 Way Relationship is Nuts. Because, I think I spoiled their flow, I mean it in the sense that they could’ve taken a taxi there, but when I was with them, it was what, 5 people? And we couldn’t take a taxi. Haha. So anyway, Han Zhen Jie, I got this idea to go there from Ci Min, but HELLO, that place is so boring! Okay, maybe not very boring, it just wasn’t filled with whatever I was looking for. No guys clothing (okay to be fair, there were shops selling guys clothings, the reason why I said there wasn’t any was because the stuff they sell, were horrendous). And and and, everywhere you see girls clothing, no wonder she said it was a good place to shop.

Anyway, we got bored of the place and walked to Bu Xing Jie. We thought it was going to be a very short walk because on the map it looked like a short distance, BUT NO… It was bloody long, never going to walk like that ever again. Took us almost an hour to get there I think, oh, and we were going there to meet Cristofer and Gang.

Didnt really buy anything there, so I decided again to stay with Group 2 ( Dave, Zhi Hui, Jia He, Xin Rong). We continued walking around and at least I found something to BUY! (Take Note: If you go out to shop, but don’t buy anything, please smack yourself on the head, you just wasted a day of your life). We had Pizza Hut After that but I wasn’t hungry, I don’t know why, it must’ve been the excessive amounts of snacks i ate before dinner. Anyway, our first waitress was afraid of us, because when we were at the table and she was waiting to take our orders, she heard us speaking english, and thought that we only knew how to speak english. So she called upon another waitress, she was sweet and funny, and spoke the language really well. But was a bit embarrassed because she thought we didn’t know how to speak THEIR language. Overall, today was fun.

Day 39-

Well, this was a resting day for me, the idea of being home soon just hit me so fast like a fly crashing against a windscreen of a car. When I’m writing this, its 1 day left, but Saturday was really, a WOW I’m actually going home day. OH and also, my hard disk crashed, so i was forced to Re-format my computer, that means, no Pictures, no APPG project, all my journal entries on Microsoft Word, and yada yada yada, I was totally pissed off today, I was using my computer before going for dinner, I shut it down and when I got back, it couldn’t be turned on! But it’s all fine now.

Day 40-

Went with the guys to Lu Xiang Guang Chang. My Aim for the day, get some Berms and get some hard liquor to get drunk on! Too bad I didn’t find any berms, but hell, I sure as hell liked the idea of getting drunk here in China. But we didn’t or at least I didn’t. Had to take care of the others who don’t know their limits and can’t hold their liquor. Know I know how others feel when I’m on the drunken end. Haha. Yes Mum your son drinks. You know this already.

These few days, home has only been on my mind, and I cant seem to have the thought of, Me at the conveyor belt, waiting for my bag while my family members and friends look beyond the glass door, waving at me, trying to get my attention and when I turn my head to look at them, I just can’t help but to smile, joy and happiness would overwhelm me, such a feeling is god. Majestic and divine. Okay, you got me, I didn’t know what to reflect on, so I just started writing about this.

Wuhan: Day 33 to 37

Hello, from when I’m posting this, its 5 more days left till I get back to Singapore! YES! Okay. I haven’t been updating frequently, you can say, I have been. Uh. LAZY. Which is very true. But hey, you cant blame me. I am so excited about going home!
Okay, so….

This was a Sunday if I recall correctly. We went to Han Kou to shop again. I must say, that place really amazes me, it truly is very very big. We took a lot of photos, credits to Jit Siong on this one. Well. I would let the pictures do the talking for this day.

Day 34-
Well. We went for APPG remedial. Just going through the theory test paper before we have our test on Wednesday. We really didn’t do anything much, but hey learning is key.

Day 35-
Today we woke up at uh. 7.30am? We went for some outdoorsy stuff today. Went rock climbing, doing some trust falls and stuff. Yet again, Pictures do the talking. Today I learnt that being responsible and such is truly important when it comes to being in a team, especially when its filled with people you barely know. Making a statement or a stand as people say in a team can either earn you respect or, get you spat on. Oh and, an important note, our test got postponed when we get back to Singapore. HOW awesome is that!?! We get to spend more free time here in Wuhan! YES!

Well, we started out with some games.

Day 36-
Today we had our APPG mini project interviews. I think I did well. I had no negative comments on my project and I was very confident in presenting it to Mr.Ma. After that Stefen, Jeremy, Dave and I went to go shop at Yellow crane towers ATM mall again, the fake stuff there are truly AAA grade. I got myself some stuff. Very promising. Haha =/ Again, pictures should do most of the talking.

The Ultimate Steak. But the one at Han Kou Was better.

This is Stefen, The waiter asked him to protect his top. haha Same goes for the rest of us. LOOK

Day 37-
Stefen and I just lazed around at home today. Nothing much to do really. China is getting really boring, this part of china at least. We should be going out tomorrow. I am going to Miss china a lot. 42 days here really makes someone go crazy. CRAZY over the place that is. And the people here. They vary, from the crazy to the sane, and the rude to the nice. I think it varies because they have billions of people in the land. That’s what makes CHINA, CHINA. As awesome as it sounds, it always has its down side. Pollution here is horrible to say the least. And poverty here is really very terrible. Worst I’ve seen upclose. Beggars everywhere. And even beggars get chased out of the sidewalks. How mean is that?

Wuhan: Day 31 and 32

Day 31-

We didn’t really do anything much for today. There was APPG in the morning and free time after that. We just rested at home for the whole day. During this period of time, when you’re in the room, “alone” and such, you tend to think about things.

I, thought about how a little thing may cause a catastrophe, in layman’s terms, this is called “the butterfly effect”. Co-incidentally, I also watched the movie. The butterfly effect. Obviously enough, this thought me one thing about life, its unexpected. And however you act upon different scenarios, you will change the way things would/should turn out to be. Stuff like that, obviously makes you want to change, be a better person like HELLO! This is pretty much what I thought yesterday.

Day 32-

Today, we woke up at One PM. My goodness. How I miss waking up late. It’s been awhile, ever since coming to Wuhan, I have never woken up late. Not once. After that, we went to collect our dry cleaning, it’s spotless. The dry cleaning is worth every penny.

Basically, today we were discussing and I fell like going to Bei Jing next week end. Since we have free time, and I don’t want to spend it here in Wuhan, I mean, I’ll only be here for only 42 days, and most of the time is spent here in Wuhan, how sad can that be? Its like I’m in china but I haven’t seen Bei Jing, I have to see it, the forbidden city, the Great wall. Everything its just going to be awesome. However, my friend did say that we needed like at least 2000 yuan to go. So I have to Negotiate with you know who.

Good news or bad, we’ll just have to hope for the best.

Wuhan: Day 30

As I’m writing this journal, I’m watching Lord Of The Rings. Oh… the journey home, it’s the most enriching, but it`s what happens and what you learn along the way going to Mordor( or in my case Wuhan) and going back to the Shire (Singapore). Everyone has been counting the days back to 0. Right now, we’re at 12. Ooooh the number 12. This is the best number of all, because, I can divide my remaining clothes into these remaining days, avoiding any attempt to wash my clothes because, I can just wear a final days clothes back to Singapore. And, still look darn awesome. The best part about today was, I went to go dry clean my jacket and a shirt at only 7 + 5 yuan what does that equal to class? Cheapest dry cleaning EVER.

What I think about counting the number of days left is kind of silly. I’ve only just adapted here, and starting to like the place. But still. Home is home. Can`t say I don’t miss it, and can`t say I really do. Will I miss Wuhan? Most probably. There’re some good memories here which made me go what in the world was I doing? Hahaha.

Boring you guys with my day like oh, basketball, or OH, dinner is boring, at least today, by watching a movie, I got some inspiration on something to talk about. There and back again.

Wuhan: Day 28 and Day 29

Okay so I haven`t blogged about yesterday yet, but it`s too boring to type and there isn’t really anything to make it creative or add some special mumbo jumbo into its context making it a good read here. The only thing that’s been running through my mind is going back. Only 13 more days, Nicki, you can live through this.

These two days have been swell for me. Finally after god knows how long, we played basketball, this my friends, is the only form of exercise I get. Which is way off from what I do in Singapore, gym-ing and swimming with my friends, suntan as well. Regularly. The lack of sun has obviously made me become fair again.

I finally completed my APPG mini project as well. This is a huge lift off of my shoulders, 1 stressful thing off my list. The other two, is my IS reports, and the final APPG test. Wish me good luck guys, I need it. A lot now more than ever, because, home is just 13 days away, and I can`t seem to get my focus mode on anymore.

I have nothing to reflect about, I’m not going to be some fake-o that writes random stuff and say that is his reflection when obviously it isn’t because what can you reflect upon going for, breakfast, class, lunch, class, basketball, dinner. And this happens almost every day.

H`asta La Vista.
