Wuhan: Day 6

Hello again my loyal readers, I was off to a bad start today, woke up early and held most of my friends back and for that I’m sorry, any hoo, today we ate at a new canteen for breakfast. In this canteen, you can get 1 “long” (basket I think) of like Paos for like 2.50 yuan, DAMN CHEAP I tell you, the food here is so cheap, I can consider moving to china, NOT. So we had our first introduction to Wuhan lecture today. The teacher miss anna had such a sweet voice, the sweetest voice coming out of a Chinese woman I’ve ever heard. Chinese as in China Chinese. Okay, so we learnt a lot today, it was very productive. We learnt about the legends and their stories. I tell you china history is so interesting. And full of bullcrap if you ask me, but to know that there are stories behind the traditions and cultures makes it interesting and half believable. We learnt about hubei as well. A lot of stories in the “romance of the three kingdoms” is found or situated in hubei, even the famous “red cliff” story is situated in Hubei.

We even had to do a summary about everything we were taught. I think its through listening to all the stories that we actually are interested in the history and culture. Even the food here has history! The people and their culture are so unique here, ranging from the rude to the polite. And the boring to the interesting. China is a land of its own.

After the lecture we went to have our photos taken, man do I look like a joke. Photos as in passport photos. Oh and today I think I’ve created this trend now, to just say hello to random people on the way to classes or our dorms and even in the canteens. I mean they don’t understand us, so why should we feel shy about what we do right?

I think the next thing we’re going to do randomly is just tell the people, “hello I love you” and see how they react. Haha. It’ll be epic. So onward we go, writing the summary for what we learnt was truly a writing experience, cause I could remember quite a lot. How the lantern festival started out and how Wuhan’s famous Re Gan Mian (hot dry noodles) came about. Nothing happened after all this, this was how today ended. Oh and we spent 80 yuan buying stuff at the supermart in school. You could say it’s ridiculous or not, but it was money well spent. Oh and, yes links for the photos. I haven’t uploaded all of them yet. Which is pretty crappy cause you know there is like 300 photos, and I can only upload 50 at a time.
